
Organisational Structure
Queensland Rugby Union is the state administrative body for rugby in Queensland, responsible for managing the development and running of the game. We are here to support the growth of this great game throughout Queensland.
Each year more than 11,500 games are played under the auspices of Queensland Rugby (excluding school-run competitions).
The President of the QRU is Mr David Crombie, a former Chairman and Director and a Director of the ARU from 1999-2004. The Vice-Presidents are Tom McVeigh and Dick Marks.
Board of Directors
QRU is governed by the Board of Directors which comprises:
- six directors elected by the Union
- one Finance Director elected by the Union
- one executive director appointed by the elected directors
- one director who is a QRU contracted player nominated by the Queensland members of the Rugby Union Players' Association Inc
The Board appoints the Chief Executive Officer who reports to the Board.
The Board acts on behalf of the Delegate Members.
It is the Board's responsibility to direct management in the day-to-day operations of the Union and to provide the strategic direction for QRU.
