Player Bio

Since graduating from Anglican Church Grammar School in 2012, Michael Gunn has impressed as he follows Queensland’s Rugby pathway from schools through to Super Rugby.

Gunn is notoriously efficient at the breakdown in both attack and defence and has the ability to slip through the smallest of holes and find the try line.

Claimed the Alec Evans Medal for the best player in Queensland Premier Rugby.
Injury limited his opportunities, but added a further seven caps to his total for Queensland.
Featured for Reds Under 20s at the National Championships, Australian Under 20s at the World Rugby U20 Championships in Italy and making his Super Rugby debut against the Lions at Suncorp Stadium. Elevated to Reds’ senior squad ahead of the 2016 Super Rugby season. He was also named the Australian U20s player of the year. Shoulder surgery ruled him out of the National Rugby Championship.
Featured as part of a dynamic back-row trio for Brisbane City in the inaugural season of the NRC. Was one of eight players to sign Reds Elite Development Squad contracts following their performances in the NRC.
