Player Bio

The 2018 season will be Markus Vanzati’s second as a member of the St.George Queensland Reds senior squad.

He has worked his way into the squad through the Queensland pathway, after moving from Adelaide as a high school student to study and play Rugby at Toowoomba Grammar School.

The 23-year-old lays claim to an interesting piece of history, as in 2017 he became the first Swedish-born Super Rugby player, when he made his Queensland debut against the Crusaders at Suncorp Stadium.

He won premierships with both Brisbane City and his Queensland Premier Rugby side Souths in 2015, a year in which he also represented the Queensland Under 20s.

Earned his Super Rugby debut against the Crusaders at Suncorp Stadium, but missed a large portion of the season due to a calf injury.
Played his second season of NRC and earned a call up to the Reds senior squad for the 2017 season.
Played for Queensland Under 20s under his former high school coach, Jason Gilmore. Claimed a Hospital Cup with Souths in Queensland Premier Rugby. Represented Brisbane City in the NRC, winning the title undefeated.
